Heads Up South-West_edited.png

We help you delay smartphones and social media for your child/ren and teen/s.

Join our growing community of parents at our local schools to let our kids be kids for longer and for them to grow up with healthy real-world experiences.

The stronger the offline community the lower the risk of children feeling left out!

Note:

We've changed our approach: You can now take the pledge via your school's P&F group!

This way you start in a community you're already familiar with.

If your school hasn't joined the initiative yet/you'd like to start a parent alliance at your school, please contact me.

Worried about the impacts of smartphones and social media on your child or teen but also about them feeling left out when they don't have it?

Watch this short video that sums up our dilemma as parents (and how to solve it) - you're not alone!

IT TAKES A VILLAGE... join the growing local community of parents delaying smartphones and social media for their children. We're working with our local schools' P&F/P&C groups so you can connect with like-minded parents at your child's school.

Our goal is to promote a healthy childhood, building confidence and resilience through strong relationships, play, real-world experiences, nature, creativity and community.

New studies prove that the younger a child when they receive their first smartphone, the significantly higher the risk of mental health problems when they're a young adult (18-24). The longer their childhood is embedded in real life experiences and connections, the stronger their adaptability and resilience, motivation, logical thinking, mood and mind-body-connection later.

Make the voluntary, good-faith pledge with your school's Heads-Up coordinator (most likely the P&F or P&C group) today.

You don't need to do anything else. They'll connect you with other parents at your child's school and facilitate the initial communications.

YOUR CHOICE AND YOUR VOICE REALLY ARE POWERFUL

I’m choosing to delay getting my child/ren a smartphone until at least 14 and social media until at least 16 - for their and our family's wellbeing, and to help protect childhood for all kids in the South-West.

Contact your P&F group to sign up with your school's Heads-Up parent alliance.

If your school hasn't joined Heads-Up South-West yet or you'd like to start an alliance, please contact me or email swheadsup@gmail.com

We're going to add a counter of local families who have already joined to this page, so watch this space!
